So Tragic

Unfortunately for all you men out there, King magazine will be no more after this upcoming April issue. Due to the recession, the big boo-tay magazine will end production. Oh how tragic!
Barbershops everywhere will have to find a new magazine to subscribe to. Too bad, so sad.

Tahiry (did I spell her name right?), Joe Budden's girlfriend (or whatever you wanna call her), was already scheduled to do the shoot for the April cover. I kind of wish they would booty bump her (heehee) and get somebody a little more famous. Big cover sellers for them were: Stacy Dash, Toccara, Lola Love, Christina Milian, Hoopz, Gabrielle Union, Lil' Kim, Rocsi, etc.
Well whatever....I don't care. I'm sure that many men have stacks of old copies under their beds to enjoy.

My Philosophical Side....

I'm feeling extremely philosophical today. My goal is to be a philosophy professor and I get quite frustrated sometimes with the unstable job market, dwindling interest in philosophy as a discipline, and the overall impracticality of it. However, when I get confronted with a philosophical issue, the wheels in my mind start turning. No other discipline (to me) gets the intellect tingling and working vigorously like philosophy. When one reaches that point of aporia-- which is frustrating to some--it's euphoric to me. Strange, I know. But I love philosophy. She's like that ex-boyfriend.....there's no real reason why you should do him, but when you do, it feels ohhhh soooo good.

Celebrity Gossip

Here's some random celebrity gossip:

• Jennifer Hudson and her fiancée Punk have set a wedding date. I'm happy for her. Despite his stint on reality tv, Punk (real name David) is a smart guy who went to U of I and then got his law degree from Harvard. They are a really cute couple and he seems really good for her.
  
• Isaiah Washington is getting evicted! I'm sure some people are just enjoying this after some of the remarks that the former "Grey's Anatomy" star said. He definitely lost cool points in my book for that mess. Anyways, he's been forced to move out because he's been behind on his payments.
  
• This is old news by now but I never really said anything about it: TI has been sentenced to a year and a day in jail. I'm sure he'll get out early on good behavior. Hopefully this fool has learned his lesson.
  
• Lil' Scrappy has signed to DTP. Why I'm writing on this I don't know...
• Rumor has it that Mary J. Blige has started drinking again. I really don't believe this mess. She seems to have had it together for a really long time now. People always want to start stuff.
• Method Man got his car repossessed for not paying taxes to the IRS. He owes a lot of money and this fool has been getting notices from them since 2002! Wow.
  

On the Hunt

I dread April because when that month rolls around I start my annual hunt for a summer job and someplace to live. Luckily, even though the economy sucks I've had a few good leads on summer employment. However, my hours would be limited and my hourly pay would be horrible. But a job is a job and right about now I need any type of income I can get. Perhaps if my summer school course load is light I can pick up another job.

Summer housing is a whole nother story. I'd like to live on campus but they charge you an arm and a leg--almost twice as much as it would cost if I picked an off-campus apartment in the same area. It's frustrating, but I have hope. I found a great apartment last summer, so hopefully my luck will carry over to this summer as well.

Queen's Birthday Party

So Queen Latifah had a birthday party (she turned 39) and a whole bunch of people came out to celebrate. Don't Lisa Raye, Lil' Kim, and Kim Kardashian look great? I was gonna upload a pic of Queen Latifah but to be honest, I wasn't feeling her outfit choices for the evening. How you gonna let other people upstage you at your own party girl?

Womp!

So the word is that Kelly Rowland just got dropped from Columbia Records. Ouch! She just fired long-time manager, Matthew Knowles, a couple of months ago. She's been at Columbia Records since the first DC album and now I guess all ties have been severed. On the positive side though, this means that she can really start anew with a new manager and label. I have to admit I'm not a real Kelly fan. Her voice just doesn't do it for me. But whatever, hope she can get it together and drop another CD soon.

I Forgot About Her

So I normally keep up with the girls from America's Next Top Model who I liked: Eva, Toccara, Danielle, etc. But I've totally forgotten about Eugena Washington!
I loved her look. I thought that she was one of the prettiest black girls of all the cycles and she had a natural beauty that a lot of the other girls just didn't have. I wonder what she's been up to. She really hasn't been on the ANTM alum radar at all.

Okay, so I think I found the shoes J. Lo. was wearing. I think they're made from Christian Louboutin. But I'm not positive. I have a pic above of some shoes he made, but I'm not sure if this is the exact style and I was unable to find them on the website.

Jennifer Lopez: Always Fabulous!

J. Lo was in Tokyo promoting a new baby-friendly handbag by Samantha Thavasa. She looks fabulous! I love Jennifer Lopez. I know she has a new movie coming out and I'm sure she'll be releasing a new album in the near future as well.

The highlight of this photo are her shoes! How high are they? At least 5.5 inches. At least!

So LeToya Luckett's new album Lady Love has been pushed back again. After being pushed back over and over again, they seemed to have a set release date of May 19th. Now the new release date is June 16th.

She's probably pushing it back in the hopes of having the opportunity to drop another single. "Not Anymore" hasn't been doing too well. To be honest, I wasn't too fond of the track, but I loved the video. They say she'll probably release "Regret" as the next single. Hopefully this new single will do well and give her the boost she needs to get some good numbers for her new CD. Her last CD did surprisingly well.

Oh No!

I was checking Necole Bitchie when I saw this tidbit:
Apparently Lil' Kim and T-Pain were doing the video for their new single "Download" when T-Pain was in a golf-cart accident! He had cuts and bruises on his face and lost 4 of his teeth. Oh no, poor T-Pain.
(Ain't that a lot of damage for a golf-cart?)
He of course had to miss a concert that he was doing with Lil' Wayne later on that evening.
Hope he gets better.

Okay whoa! Ya'll know Vince from the Shamwow infomercials? You know those super-absorbent towels (which we all know are some regular dish rags)? Anyways, the SmokingGun reports that he got arrested last month for roughin up/slappin a prostitute. Apparently he propositioned her, agreed to pay her $1000, and then hit her when she bit on his tongue while they were kissing. LOL, that's bizarre.

I Feel Old

Talking about Beyoncé I just had a random flashback. I was in middle school and my friends and I wanted to go see the original Destiny's Child (Bey, Kelly, LaTavia, & LeToya) at George's Music Room in Chicago. We really wanted to go but none of our parents would drive us. I was super disappointed.

I have no idea why I decided to share that just now. That is all.

Beyonce in Concert

Beyoncé opened up her "I Am....Tour" in Canada the other night. Above are the Thierry Mugler designs she will be wearing throughout the tour. I love designer sketches.

Now why would she use Edmonton, Canada as the kick-off spot of her new tour? Such a small venue in a small town? It basically seems like a paid dress-rehearsal to me. Well whatever, as long as her show is stellar when it comes to Chicago, I'm okay. So far, there hasn't been any word of the exact cities and dates for the US leg of her tour. But I know one thing, if she doesn't come to Chicago.....they'll be some problems.

This pic was taken at her Atlanta album release party. Word is she wanted to be a diva and arrived at her own party around midnight. Some nerve she got..... I'd put up more pics but honestly, there aren't too many other celebrities who showed up unless you wanted to count Lil' Scrappy and Princess (or is it Diamond?)

I guess this is upgrade from her CD signing at none other than Wet Seal clothing store. At first I thought it was a joke but she was def up there signing her CDs.

So I love Bvlgari and they have a new fragrance called Omnia Green Jade. It's described as a crisp, floral, sensual scent...
Fragrance notes: spring water, green mandarin, white peony, nasturtium, pear tree flower and jasmine petals, fresh pistachio, white woods and musk.

The eau de toilette is $60 for the 1.3 oz bottle, and $77 for the 2.2 oz. bottle.

I'm definitely going to head down to Nordstrom this weekend and have them fill up another $8 atomizer so I can have this perfume. It sounds like it smells really good.

Epiphany

So I finally had my epiphany today and hopefully it will last.
I finally went to your facebook page to see what's been going on in your life and I built up enough courage to go to hers as well. She had her profile pic of you and her together and I realized I wasn't missing anything.

You looked a mess. Like always, your outfit was all mismatched and thrown together, just like your life. Why would I want that in my life? as my baby's father? as my husband?
I need to realize that maybe this girl did me a favor. Saved me from falling more in love with a piece of s**t. Perhaps I need to send them an engagement/baby shower present, thanking her for taking this garbage off my hands.

Pose for the Camera Now Flick Flick Flick

So I most definitely have to buy a new camera to capture my upcoming moments of summer time fun! I've been working with a camera that was given to me back in 2005. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it, but man I need to upgrade. So I'm going to copy my mom and buy this Kodak EasyShare digital camera. The camera is on sale for $89.99 at Best Buy, and compared to some of those other cameras, it seems like a pretty reasonable price. Features:

• 8.2 megapixels
• 3x optical zoom, 5x digital zoom (I gotta investigate what the difference is)
• Fast 0.3 second click-to-capture time (exactly what I'm looking for)
• Digital image stabilization
• 2.4" LCD screen

Now of course there's a couple of drawbacks: uses batteries, gotta pay extra for a memory card, and a whole bunch of modes and settings I could care less about.

I still have to think on it, but I think when I get paid on Wednesday I'll head on down and buy it.

New tattoos? Possible a new mansion? Hopefully, she'll get a new man to match. The latest is that Rihanna came to her senses and kicked Chris Brown to the curb. I'm happy for her, but who knows what's really going on. I hope she finds someone new and is happy. She's too pretty to always have a sad look on her face :(

Dr. Photoshop

LOL! Okay so I posted those pics of Kim K in Complex early this morning before I went to class. Like I noted, that last pic is a tad unflattering.

Well, I definitely wasn't the only person who noticed. Complex mistakenly uploaded the un-photoshopped pic to their website. They tried to quickly replace it with the photoshopped one, but too late. Many bloggers (and me) already snagged it.

Notice, those thighs have been smoothed out, she's been lightened, slimmed down a bit, her hair slicked back more, and her shirt more filled in at the side. There's probably some other details I'm missing. But once again, Dr. Photoshop has come to the rescue for Kim K!

I Knew Somethin Looked Familiar

Also, I wanted to retract my previous statement that the video was "classy." Upon second glance (I originally viewed it during early morning) I deemed it pretty trashy. Ciara can do way better than that.

Bad Girls Club Season Finale Tonight!

Okay so the Bad Girls Club season 3 finale is on tonight on Oxygen. I have to watch! Tiffany is gonna snap on one of the Ambers I think.

I love Tiffany. (She's the second one from the right). She's my favorite and the most mature out of all of them. She's from Chicago and definitely not the one to mess with. 100th Post!

Yayyy! This is my 100th post on my blog. (I know this probably means I have waayy to much time on my hands, but I'm going to make it an accomplishment).

So for this 100th post, I've decided to do a personal entry. I've been focusing a lot on celebrities and what not, and haven't been updating people on myself. So here are 3 random things I want to share:

1. Chipotle Chicken Guy
Okay, so my roommate and I frequent Chipotle (my roommate is a preferred customer) and there's this kinda attractive guy that works there. We rarely see him because we go at dinner time, but one day we decided to swing by for a quick lunch. To my surprise he was there! So I'm standing in line waiting for my burrito bol and he's by the grill cutting chicken. He stares at me. Winks at me. Then blows me a kiss. EWWWWW! That's so disgusting and is a complete turn off. Why do guys mess things up for themselves? He had a pretty good shot at getting the digits before he blew a kiss. Not a good technique at all. You've turned yourself into a pervert.
Reason #374 why I'm still single.

2. Me, the Event Planner
So for the past three weeks I've been planning a big event for the university that I attend. It's going to be a big event with a big speaker. The only problem is consequently, the event is also big bucks. Tonight is the budget hearing where I defend the price tag. I'm sooo nervous. Pray for me that the committee approves us. If they don't, all that hard work and high hopes will go down the drain :(

3. I'm stressed
A lot has been going on in my life. Within the last two months I've had some major disappointments, heart ache, and the ongoing stresses of being a college student. You ever just feel like you're going crazy sometime? On top of that, living with three other girls makes you want your own personal space sometimes. But honestly, I need to enjoy this while I can. Summer is rolling around and I still haven't worked out my summer employment and living arrangements yet. Have you ever been so beyond stressed out that you no longer care about anything anymore? That's how I feel.

Liya is gorgeous! She's actually going to be the new model for the J.Crew magazine that comes out for April. This is the first time that they'll use only one model for the entire catalogue.

Liya is from Ethiopia and is a mother of two. Her body is amazing! Also, according to Forbes, she is the 11th highest paid model in the world. I've seen her before, but never knew her name. Could she be the next Naomi? I think so.

Kimora, Ty Ty, and Cinque

Update: Okay soooo my roommate and I are sitting up here irritated. After weeks of waiting for Mos Def to be on HOUSE on March 23, we turn to it and it's definitely a repeat. They must have pushed the new episode back to March 30th. We were kinda excited about Mos Def.....FOX isn't on my good side right now.

Okay, so I've been hearing a lot about this new Ciara video for her duet with Justin Timberlake called "Love, Sex, and Magic." I'm soooo not a Ciara fan for multiple reasons, and when I first heard the single I hated it. Looking at other blogs, some people say it a super hot video and other people say it's down right trashy. I was preparing myself to hate this video, and Ciara, and call it lewd and distasteful.

However, I think this video is really classy, beyond hot, and it makes me like the song 10 times more.

It is a lil unsuitable for work though, so you might not want to hit that play button until after 5 PM....
