I know this is a picture of a iPod touch. Just pretend it's an iPhone...
I'm sorry I worked myself up about the March Apple announcement concerning the iPhone. Nothing they said really excited me. Now, AT&T has a new announcement about the iPhone and it isn't too thrilling either. AT&T will now sell the phone without binding you to a 2 year contract. However, it's gonna cost you. Depending on the GBs, it will either be $599 or $699 if you want to purchase the phone without the contract. On top of that, the phone will still be locked to the AT&T network and you still have to buy the $30 data plan of course. I don't see many people jumping on this opportunity. That's a lot for a phone. If you want the phone that bad, then the two year contract probably wouldn't matter to you and you can get the phone for $199! I doubt if AT&T will be enticing new customers with this new gimmick.
FYI: There's going to be a iPhone 3.0 announcement tomorrow. Apple always intrigues me with their announcements. They're so dramatic about it....lol. Steve Jobs is on medical leave, so we'll see how the magic show/presentation plays itself out.
I do want to see what this new version will look like. If you think about how futuristic the iPhone looks and operates already, it's hard to imagine what improvements they'll make. This announcement pertains to software, but knowing Apple they may have a design re-do up their sleeve to surprise us with.
Also, word is that iPhone will expand to the Verizon network as well, putting an end to its extremely limited "have to have AT&T" deal. The catch is that Verizon can't start offering the iPhone until 2010 :(
So I most definitely have to get a new computer this summer. I have an old iBook G4 that has been working just fine; however, I'm running out of space. Being a music freak I have tons of mp3 that are taking up space. Plus, I need a computer that's going to run faster. I need a new computer quick! I'm also debating whether I should get a new iPod. I've had two different iPod models and now I'm thinking I should upgrade to the iPod touch. I was hoping these prices would come down though. Apple doesn't quite understand that we're in a recession! Geez...
