I've been really slackin with this blog but I'll try to get it together soon. Here's some music news that has been accumulating that I'll share with everyone else.

• Chrisette Michele has the number one album in the country! Yayyy!!!! Love her. Get that album! Did you know the day it was released you could have gotten a mp3 download of the album from Amazon for only $2.99?!
• Ciara's album came in at number 3 with only 81,000 copies sold in the first week. WOMP! FYI: Keri Hilson's album did 94,000 in the first week. DOUBLE WOMP!
• Amerie, The Dream, Mariah Carey, and Toni Braxton are all working in the studio for new releases in the near future.
• Jennifer Lopez is coming out with a greatest hits album soon.....yeah I know: "Greatest hits?" Whatever, let her do what she does.....
• Don't forget that LeToya Luckett's album should be coming out in late June! Her last album is one of my favs on my iPod.
• Beyonce is re-releasing her album with a video discography and two new singles will be coming out (perhaps Ego (remix) and Sweet Dreams/Beautiful Nightmare?)
• Lil' Kim's new album "Vintage" will be coming out late August/September. Can't wait! (And I'm still mad she got booted off Dancing With the Stars)

This is Ciara at her album release party photoed with Ludacris and LaLa (both of whom I follow on Twitter--love them). You all know I don't care for Ciara too much so I don't have too much to say. But I will say: what's up with the shoulder pads?

Met Costume Gala

Here are some pics of last night's The Model as Muse: Embodying Fashion Costume Institute Gala at The Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 4th in New York City. Umm....where are the costumes?
Here is Kanye and Amber! Oh how cute! (rolling eyes...) I thought they had broken up? I have to admit I love her dress. The first pic doesn't really show off how nice the fabric and texture is. The second one is a little better. And when is Amber going to start growing in her hair? And more importantly, why is Kanye not wearing any socks?
Here is Ciara. I'm so sick of that long phony pony! She needs to give it a rest and let it stay in the drawer at home. I don't really like her dress either. The bottom is a tad matronly.
The front view is even worse. Try again! FYI. Her new album is in stores today. Don't bother buying it...
Here is Rihanna with some interesting attire on. I've been reading other blogs who are praising her on how fashion forward this outfit is. Now you know if anyone else showed up looking like this everyone would be talking about how tacky it is. That jacket has got to go! What's up with her pigeon-toe stance?
Of course this is Tyra Banks. I can't say I love or hate her dress. It just is what it is. She better be careful that her stalker doesn't show up. Although he was convicted he's not getting any jail time just some counseling. Girl, be careful!

Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel. I like them as a couple. Not liking her dress too much and JT needs to get rid of the glasses.

Ciara the Superhero

Here is some of the album art from Ciara's upcoming release. She looks great. I'm not sure how well her album will do. Her singles haven't been huge hits. Also, I'm really disappointed with the album cover. One of these pics would have been a lot better for her concept.

Quick Music Update

Quite honestly, there is nothing really going on as far as music lately. Everything that has been leaking on the internet pretty much sucks and you guys know I don't waste my money buying music. Here's some brief music "news" which has no real relevance:

• Keri Hilson's album sold a little over 90,000 copies its first week coming in at #4 on the charts. A lot of people are praising this because of all the setbacks her album had as far as being released. Personally, I think this proves further that she sucks. Once again, you ain't neva gonna be Beyoncé!
• I've heard some really ridiculous rumors lately about Kelly Rowland. Like I said earlier, she did get dropped from Columbia. I know they both released statements saying it was mutually decision ya-di-yah....but whatever, she was dropped. Her being on suicide watch on all this other mess is ridiculous. She has a new reality show premiering on Bravo in early May called "The Fashion Show." She'll be a co-host and judge.
  
• Mariah will be coming out with a new album soon and I can't wait. E=MC2 was a little bit of a disappointment to me. Hopefully, this new album will bring back the Emancipation of Mimi/Butterfly Mariah back.
  
• I'm really looking forward to Chrisette Michelle's album coming out May 5th. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Ciara's. I don't know. I'm just not really a fan of hers. But we'll see, maybe she'll surprise me and her album will live up to the hype.
  
• Beyonce's "I Am...Tour" has been getting rave reviews. However, her tour dates have been scheduled up until the end of June so far and there still hasn't been a date announced for Chicago yet.
  

I Knew Somethin Looked Familiar

Wow. I knew Ciara was biting Beyoncé's style but geez. She could have been a little more subtle about it. I knew something looked familiar about that new "Love Sex Magic" music video she has with Justin. Too many similarities for my tastes.....

Also, I wanted to retract my previous statement that the video was "classy." Upon second glance (I originally viewed it during early morning) I deemed it pretty trashy. Ciara can do way better than that.

Okay, so I've been hearing a lot about this new Ciara video for her duet with Justin Timberlake called "Love, Sex, and Magic." I'm soooo not a Ciara fan for multiple reasons, and when I first heard the single I hated it. Looking at other blogs, some people say it a super hot video and other people say it's down right trashy. I was preparing myself to hate this video, and Ciara, and call it lewd and distasteful.

However, I think this video is really classy, beyond hot, and it makes me like the song 10 times more.

It is a lil unsuitable for work though, so you might not want to hit that play button until after 5 PM....

Try Again

This is the cover for Ciara's new album, Fantasy Ride (how long has it taken for this to come out?). I've been reading the blogs and many people have commented on how great it looks. Clearly, these are some hard-core Ciara fans because this mess looks terrible! Looks like it should be a cover on a mixtape or something and it looks like some left-over photo from something else. I don't know. I like Ciara and hope her album does well but she needs to step her game up.
