Bey & Kelly Drama

I haven't really commented on this Beyoncé and Kelly drama but I guess I'll weigh in on it. In case you haven't heard the rumors, some people believe that Kelly is actually Matthew Knowles' illegitimate daughter and although Matthew was her manager, he was actually sabotaging her career to further Beyoncé's.

Here's what I have to say about this:
I've always heard that Kelly was Beyoncé's cousin and it was a little strange that she had been living with them since she was 10. However, everyone has their own family situation, so who knows. Is Kelly really Beyoncé's father's daughter? Hmm. I don't know. Tina Knowles doesn't seem like someone who would let Kelly move up in there with them. But if Kelly is Beyoncé's half sister so what?

We all know that Beyoncé is Matthew Knowles' priority. But that's his daughter. Yeah, he's gonna put her in the front, give her the best outfits, and have her sing lead vocals. That's his daughter! People need to get real and give the man some credit in creating a super star.

And are we seriously going to blame Kelly's career on Matthew as a manager? Can Kelly sing like Bey? Ummm no. Can she dance like Bey? Nope. Could she put on a show like Bey? No. Kelly is not half as talented as Bey--point blank. And I wish people would really think about this. Solange is Matthew's daughter as well and her career is a tad crappy. That's on her lack of talent, nothing else. Matthew put his effort into Beyoncé because she had the talent. Common sense people. Stop making a big deal out of nothing.

Quick Music Update

Quite honestly, there is nothing really going on as far as music lately. Everything that has been leaking on the internet pretty much sucks and you guys know I don't waste my money buying music. Here's some brief music "news" which has no real relevance:

• Keri Hilson's album sold a little over 90,000 copies its first week coming in at #4 on the charts. A lot of people are praising this because of all the setbacks her album had as far as being released. Personally, I think this proves further that she sucks. Once again, you ain't neva gonna be Beyoncé!
• I've heard some really ridiculous rumors lately about Kelly Rowland. Like I said earlier, she did get dropped from Columbia. I know they both released statements saying it was mutually decision ya-di-yah....but whatever, she was dropped. Her being on suicide watch on all this other mess is ridiculous. She has a new reality show premiering on Bravo in early May called "The Fashion Show." She'll be a co-host and judge.
  
• Mariah will be coming out with a new album soon and I can't wait. E=MC2 was a little bit of a disappointment to me. Hopefully, this new album will bring back the Emancipation of Mimi/Butterfly Mariah back.
  
• I'm really looking forward to Chrisette Michelle's album coming out May 5th. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for Ciara's. I don't know. I'm just not really a fan of hers. But we'll see, maybe she'll surprise me and her album will live up to the hype.
  
• Beyonce's "I Am...Tour" has been getting rave reviews. However, her tour dates have been scheduled up until the end of June so far and there still hasn't been a date announced for Chicago yet.
  

Womp!

So the word is that Kelly Rowland just got dropped from Columbia Records. Ouch! She just fired long-time manager, Matthew Knowles, a couple of months ago. She's been at Columbia Records since the first DC album and now I guess all ties have been severed. On the positive side though, this means that she can really start anew with a new manager and label. I have to admit I'm not a real Kelly fan. Her voice just doesn't do it for me. But whatever, hope she can get it together and drop another CD soon.
