Quick Thought

So I know I haven't blogged in awhile. I've totally lost interest. But maybe I'll start up again, and like I said before--make things more personal. But right now I have something really quick to say:

My three besties and myself are all going through issues with our past relationships. I notice that a common thread is that men seem to move on a lot quicker than we do, they give mixed signals, and they do the whole "I'm not going to call or text you back" thing. I feel like the first issue is just a matter of how men are socialized, while the second has to do with a lack of maturity in certain men (or should I say "boys" lol). But the third issue is one that for some reason really strikes a chord with me. If someone calls, texts, or facebook/aim messages you, have the decency to reply and just give a reason for you no longer wanting to talk, or whatever the case. I mean let's be real.....we know you aren't doing anything in your pathetic life and at least have the courtesy to reply after I took the time out in my busy schedule to hit you and ask how you were doing. I mean really.....

Finally Feeling Gaga

So I know I'm super late....but I'm finally feeling this Lady Gaga chick. Admittedly, it took me awhile. I'm not too into gimmicks and her "flare" for fashion was really turning me off. Lil too crazy for me. But I gotta respect her for being different. I encourage you to peep some youtube videos of her before she was "Lady Gaga" and she was just a girl in music school singing with her piano. Sooo different from how she is now. But I still dig her present pop-style of music. She definitely is talented. Peep her cover for 944 mag. Nice!

Love Can Wait: First Lesson

I've never been one to search for love. I've spent much of my teenage years and early 20s single. Neither happily or unhappily single. Just single. Just waiting for the right guy to come along, at the right time, the right place. Never actively searching. Just waiting.

I had a relationship with a guy that lasted way too long and was filled with heartache and pain. I realize now that that wasn't a true relationship at all. There was no commitment, no romance, no love. But being young and foolish I endured it thinking that the relationship would get better and grow. It didn't. It ended badly and subsequent events made the break-up even worse. However, the worst thing about the "relationship" was in the struggle to love someone else and give my all to him...I stopped loving myself. My life fell apart and I literally had no self-identity. Losing him made me feel like I lost my entire world. I realize now, that I had actually lost myself.

After that, I got my life back on track. Although I still felt lost and lonely, I was now focused on doing what was best for myself. I wanted to date and have a boyfriend, but I became so absorbed in myself that I became indifferent to the fact that I was single. That was a good thing. I achieved so much in a short period of time, merely by focusing on myself. Putting myself first. I became the number one priority--not him. It was my first lesson in my now personal maxim "love can wait."

Emma Watson for Burberry

Check out Emma Watson in the new Burberry ad campaign. She looks so good! Definitely model material. I love the purple coat in the second pic. The third pic is my favorite: (a) the bags (esp. the one she's holding) are definitely ones I want in my closet, and (b) the male model is making me laugh hysterically! He's really trying to serve us the fierceness isn't he? The last pic I was hesitant to even put up here because I was uncertain if it was really her. She's come a long way from being the little homely girl in Harry Potter!

Kim Kardashian's New Fragrance

Peep the ad for Kim Kardashian's new perfume. I'll definitely go and test it out. Interesting that Beyoncé is coming out with a fragrance too. I'll have to smell that as well. How many celebs have come out with perfumes? Britney Spears, Mariah, Usher, Diddy....nowadays everyone comes out with a perfume or clothing line. Surprised Rihanna hasn't done something yet. The Purpose of This is What?

I really don't understand stuff like this. These are fingerless gloves from UGG and the description posted was the following: "slick fingerless gloves feature light insulation for added warmth." Really? I doubt. The whole purpose of gloves to me is to keep my fingers warm.....what are these supposed to do? Somebody clue me in. Thanks. If you want these "palm/wrist warmers" you can get them at Nordstrom for $45 (sheesh! waste of money).

Red Leather Shopper

I like this! It's a Dolce & Gabbana "Miss Heather" leather shopper with cute ruffles in the front. That paired with the red color will really make this bag stand out. Plus it's a medium/large bag (which can hold a decent amount of stuff), durable handles, interior zip pockets, cell phone pocket, and metal feet. The only drawback is that there is no magnetic closure or zipper (so beware). $1450 (ouch)

So I really like R&B so I decided to list my top 9 R&B albums of 2009. I know most of you will disagree with me but I don't really care. This is mostly based on the albums that were on heavy rotation on my iPod. Now I haven't listened to the new albums from Mary J. Blige nor Alicia Keys so don't send me any hate mail. Also, I really didn't count Rihanna as an "R&B" album and Beyonce's album came out in 2008. Also Keri Hilson and Ciara have been omitted because I personally don't care for either of them. Who is this woman's stylist? This is not the way to bring in the New Year! Jennifer Lopez wore this cat-suit for her New Years' Eve performance in New York City. This is simple dreadful. What in the world happened to her body? Her booty looks deflated. 'Tis a shame. I'm hoping that this was just an ill-fitting body suit.

I normally wouldn't wear booties as "cutesy" as these but New Year's Eve is coming up and these would be the perfect compliment to the "Janelle Monet-ish" suit I'm contemplating wearing.

That Nicki Minaj Girl

So I haven't really been a Nicki Minaj fan. I feel like her sound and look is totally contrived. When she first came out she was trying to sound like Foxy and now that she's signed to Young Money she sounds like Wayne. Homegirl switches it up so much she doesn't really seem to have her own identity. And that whole "harajuku barbie" sh*t works my nerves. The robotic sh*t and her stage performance annoys the hell outta me. All that said, I got bored over winter break and decided to download one of her mixtapes......and I'm ashamed to say it but I was kinda diggin it. I don't know if I've been totally converted into a Nicki Minaj fan but I'm now at least 80% receptive to her. I'll listen to to her stuff. On that note, I decided to post a random track off the mixtape; however, I just realized that the site that I use to upload music to the blog is down. I'm going to have to find an alternative. Hopefully I'll be able to post music soon and repost all the tracks that I posted before .

Sidenote: I'm really curious to know what the 22-30 year old crowd thinks of Nicki. Not these lil' kids who actually watch BET, but the older folks who grew up listening to Kim's "Crush on You" and Foxy's "Gotta Get You Home With Me Tonight." What do they think?

I Lied....I'm Sorry

About a month ago I lied to you all. Said I was coming back. I got caught up in other things . But for real....for real.....starting TODAY. I will do at least 2 blog posts a day. I miss blogging. I've been keeping my eye out on my competition...not digging the pics, writing style, topics, etc. I gotta come back and give the fashion, gossip, music, and my two-cents. No more excuses. I've been gone too long....

Are you Ready for a Comeback?

So I previously claimed that I would restart this blog and then I totally forgot. Between school full-time and three jobs I wasn't able to do a single entry in the last three months. Starting TODAY I'm going to start doing posts again and try to do at least 2 or 3 a day (with at least one music post included in that). I might even change the background too to make a full revitalization of Panache-n-Posh....but I think I'll stick with the urban music/celebrity news/fashion format but also sprinkle in some personal posts and issues that I think are important. I know I've probably lost some daily readers but I hope to bring them back and also gain some new ones! Feel free to add me on facebook and follow me on Twitter too!

So I have totally neglected this blog for the past month! I will be updated soon. I promise. New music, fashion, and celebrity gossip coming soon. I guess I'll be doing more personal updating as well since that was the initial point of this blog: a place for me to vent my frustrations and share my life with my friends and anyone else who cared to know.

Sean Paul "Evening Ride"

So last week I got my hands on Sean Paul's new album "Imperial Blaze." It's been on heavy rotation on my iPod, although I have to admit that out of all Sean Paul's albums, it's my least favorite. All the tracks are so-so to me and if you're expecting a "Get Busy" track, you'll be more than disappointed. But it's a decent album and if you're a Sean Paul fan it's worth the download. I think I'll put a couple of tracks up throughout the week....starting with this song "Evening Ride."

Sigh....Mariah and Amerie Album Updates

So I've sure you've heard the rumors already that Mariah has stopped all album promotion after her disappointing first single "Obsessed." "Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel" (that title sucks) will now be released September 29th (at least I think that's what I heard).

Also, Amerie's album (after several setbacks) will now be released in October.....ummm. What's going on? They both need to get it together assap. Mariah's team needs to be slapped because they knew she needed a great album release after E=MC2. Additionally, with making the first single a diss record, and having Eminem come back at her, she kinda lookin like a fool right now. And Amerie? She really has some hard core fans....because we've been waiting for this release a little bit too long. She has another single which I lot of people are feeling (not me personally) and hopefully this will be the push to get her album off the ground.

First LeToya's new album had a strong resemblance to one of Beyoncé's photo shoot pics. Now this....Peep Whitney's new cover for her single "Million Dollar Bill." I kept lookin at it like "I've seen this before...."
Ummmm.....isn't this the same concept as Mariah's new album cover? What's going on with the creative people that are supposed to be working on things like this? C'mon now. Well whatever, not a big deal I guess. Glad Whitney is back and lookin healthy.

Solange's Shoes are the Business!

So Solange was in Tokyo with Beyoncé and the one thing that stood out to me was surprisingly not her hair.....but her extra fierce shoes. I am so in love with these shoes that if they were available online I would would blow my rent money on these bad boys without a second thought! They're Moschino and dubbed the "two-faced" shoe--half strappy stiletto and half suede bootie. I need these shoes in my life asap. I've seen them priced around $800 but they're from Moschino's Fall Cheap and Chic collection which isn't on the internet. [sad face]

New Janet Pic

So making my daily rounds of all my favorite blogs I came across this new pic of Janet Jackson (which might be a new promo pic because she is releasing a new album soon). This photo is incredibly strange, yet......I love it! It's hot and extremely different. I'm sure many of you will disagree, but I'm liking this.

Congrats to Jennifer Hudson and her fiancee David Otunga. They had their son! His name is David Jr. of course. I can't wait to see pics!

Blast From the Past: Mia X

Okay so I ran across this pic of Monica and Yung Joc and I thought to myself, "wow, Monica is lookin great!" and then I thought to myself, "ummm, that lady looks familiar....wait a min! Is that Mia X? Wow." If you are unfamiliar with Mia X, the first lady of No Limit Records, you need to rack your brain because Mia X was hot. I put her in the Gangsta Boo and La Chat category of female rappers: not mainstream, but nevertheless they could rap. All three of them would tear Nicki Minaj up.

See I always give Rihanna compliments on her fashion forwardness and then have to take them back the very next day! What on earth is this on top of her head? A doily? For real Rihanna? C'mon on now....at least make it match the shade of the dress. The shoes are cute though.

This Summer Is Terrible! (Music Wise)

So I love music and I'm constantly downloading new tracks. So far 2009 has not been a good year as far as music and my iPod was constantly playing the same tracks over and over again. I always look forward to the summer because normally that's the time when most artists put out the best music. However, this summer has been terrible! There hasn't been many full albums that I have downloaded and I only listen to a few new tracks here and there.

On top of that, Mariah Carey's album has been pushed back from August 25 to September 15! And of course, Amerie's album has been pushed back as well. Fabolous' album "Losso's Way" hits stores today and hopefully that will revive the summer! I still can't wait for LeToya's album (it's been a long time coming and I'm so excited). I need some hot new music asap!

Is this Michael Jackson's love child? You be the judge. I mean the guy was sitting in the front row at the funeral. Why would you be in the front row unless you were part of the family? He looks just like Michael in his Thriller days. I seriously believe this one. The only thing I don't understand is that Michael seemed like a loving and proud father to his three children. Why wouldn't he make public this child as well? Who knows.....but yeah this is son!

Kim K and Reggie Break Up

So I've hearing for months that Reggie Bush and Kim Kardashian have split up but I didn't really want to post it. But now I see more and more that the rumors are more likely than not true. I actually thought they made a nice couple and I'm actually surprised they made it this far with their busy schedules. Many women will be ecstatic that Reggie is back on the market :)
