It's Confirmed

So it's been confirmed that Jennifer Hudson is indeed 7 months pregnant! She recently had her baby shower in Chicago (where was my invite?). I'm so happy for her and she said that her and David/Punk (we really all need to stop calling him that) will get married in the fall. How cute!

Electrik Red "Go Shawty"

Here's another track from the Electrik Red album "How to Be a Lady Vol. 1" called "Go Shawty. I really like these girls. Although their vocal ability isn't that strong, they have some smooth tracks and are great dancers. Peep their YouTube videos when you ever get bored.

Quickie Celebrity Gossip

Hey All! I know my updates have been scarce but here's some celebrity news that caught my eye this weekend:

• Reportedly Christina Milian and The-Dream are in fact engaged and actually confirmed it themselves. I thought they hinted to this months ago? Actually, who cares? I need to drop my two sense here and say that this is not a good look for Christina Milian. This relationship looks pretty fake (like her hair) and strictly for publicity (like her hair). The girl has a good voice so I don't know why she's going this route.
  
• Rumor is that Kimora Lee Simmons had a baby boy sometime this weekend. Not sure if that's totally accurate but if it is it squashes those rumors that she was going to have twin boys. I know that baby is going to be too cute!
• UPDATE: Kimora did have the baby yesterday morning. Peep the pic that she posted via her twitter page above :)
  
• Sure you know this already but Rihanna is scheduled to testify against Chris Brown on June 22nd. Why are we all highly anticipating this mess? I just wanna know if she's gonna keep it real or tone down the story for Chris' sake.
  

Quick Celebrity Couple Gossip

Here's some quick celebrity gossip:

• So my favorite couple (I love to hate on) Kanye West and Miss Amber Rose have split up. I've heard this rumor for awhile but ignored it, but I think this time it's for real. I'll miss Amber.....(rolling my eyes). Anywhoo, the gossip going around is that Kanye is now with Rihanna. We've heard this rumor before and now that they've been spending time together working on new material for her and her making an appearance in his new video for "Paranoid" the rumors have been intensified. I actually think they make a cute couple although honestly he needs to be with someone older.
  
• I haven't really posted anything on up and coming rapper Drake but he's recently been linked with Rihanna, Bria Myles, and now Teyanna Taylor. I honestly don't see the fascination with Drake but perhaps he will grow on me. If him and Teyanna Taylor are really together, good for them. Both need the publicity.
  
• I said I wasn't going to comment on this, but did ya'll see the season premiere of Jon and Kate Plus Eight? WHOA, it was kinda intense. I feel really bad for them and how their business was aired out on tv. However, it kinda seems like Kate didn't mind too much. Here's my brief assessment: The problem with their marriage didn't really seem like infidelity. It seemed like Jon was sick of doing the show, sick of not being able to work, and sick of Kate. I felt kinda bad for him, although I wish he would have explicitly apologized to Kate. They both repeatedly said that their "family" was important to them but never really said anything nice or loving about each other. Seems like these two are heading for divorce.
  

Electrik Red "On Point"

So for the next week expect me to do several posts on the group Electrik Red who will be dropping their first album this Tuesday. I absolutely LOVE this album and you definitely have to pick it up. They are honestly the next Vanity 6 and one of the girls (Binkie) sounds like my fave singer Kelis. Listen to the song "On Point" below. It's definitely giving off that Kelis vibe. The main obstacles for these girls are lack of promotion and a limited selection of radio friendly singles. But these girls are hot. Don't sleep on them....

Tote It

Boy do I love totes for the summer time....here's another one: Tory Burch Canvas Tote in Gold Seal (looks like a Marigold color to me), also comes in Ivory and Green, $235. Kerry at Cannes

Here's some pics of Kerry Washington I just wanted to share. She's at the red carpet for the films Visage and Coco Chanel and Igor Stravinsky at the 62nd annual Cannes Film Festival. Honestly I think Kerry is one of my top people for fashion. She always looks so glamorous and she's just a gorgeous woman overall. I need to do more posts on her.

Rihanna's Cropped Jacket

So somebody asked me what jacket Rihanna was wearing to LA Reid's Def Jam Spring Collection event last week, so I decided to do a quick post about it. Rihanna is wearing an Ostwald Helgason Cropped Gypsy Print Jacket. It's a cropped multi-colored jacket with square structured shoulders, deep arm holes, contrasting black and white striped fabric and a print with doll faces on it. Get it for $421.

Don't Mess With Louis V

Sooooo, Rick Ross is always talking about his shades collection and he was featured on XXL's May 2009 issue with a pair of "Louis Vuitton" sunglasses on. XXL later got the following letter:

We were dismayed to see the cover of the May 2009 issue of XXL Magazine, which features a photo of Rick Ross wearing a pair of sunglasses prominently featuring counterfeit Louis Vuitton trademarks. Because the photo has generated considerable confusion among your readers and Louis Vuitton customers among others, we feel it is important to clarify several points.

The first is that the sunglasses Mr. Ross is wearing were not made by Louis Vuitton, and in fact, are counterfeit. Louis Vuitton did not grant permission to Mr. Ross or to whoever did make the sunglasses to use our trademarks. The second is that no affiliation, sponsorship or association exists between Rick Ross or XXL and Louis Vuitton. The third is that counterfeiting is illegal.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to correct the confusion.

I've been really slackin with this blog but I'll try to get it together soon. Here's some music news that has been accumulating that I'll share with everyone else.

• Chrisette Michele has the number one album in the country! Yayyy!!!! Love her. Get that album! Did you know the day it was released you could have gotten a mp3 download of the album from Amazon for only $2.99?!
• Ciara's album came in at number 3 with only 81,000 copies sold in the first week. WOMP! FYI: Keri Hilson's album did 94,000 in the first week. DOUBLE WOMP!
• Amerie, The Dream, Mariah Carey, and Toni Braxton are all working in the studio for new releases in the near future.
• Jennifer Lopez is coming out with a greatest hits album soon.....yeah I know: "Greatest hits?" Whatever, let her do what she does.....
• Don't forget that LeToya Luckett's album should be coming out in late June! Her last album is one of my favs on my iPod.
• Beyonce is re-releasing her album with a video discography and two new singles will be coming out (perhaps Ego (remix) and Sweet Dreams/Beautiful Nightmare?)
• Lil' Kim's new album "Vintage" will be coming out late August/September. Can't wait! (And I'm still mad she got booted off Dancing With the Stars)
  

Stars at a Playoff Game...

Here are some pics of Jeezy, TI (ain't he supposed to be in jail?), Nelly, and Keyshia Cole at one of the NBA play off games (I don't keep up with basketball). Keyshia Cole looks too cute! Interesting that Jeezy is at the game and Keyshia is there as well. She's rumored to be dating a basketball player who is on one of the teams that was playing that night. (Once again, I don't keep up with basketball. I need to get it together).

Beyonce in Vegas

Beyonce will be in Las Vegas July 30th through August 2nd doing four shows. Above is her promo photo and I'm ashamed to say I still haven't gotten tickets to the Chicago show. Ticket prices for the Vegas show are $250, $500, $750, and $1000 and some of them include airfare, spa services, etc. I might need switch gears and start planning a trip! I've never been to Vegas....

Okay...

So Nick Cannon has released the "official" music video for Mariah Carey's song "Love Story." The YouTube was just removed so I deleted what I had embedded earlier from this post. It's not an official single but Nick has released the video as a one year wedding anniversary "present" for all of Mariah's fans. HOW CORNY IS THAT?! These two make me ill.....

"Love Story" is actually one of my favorite tracks on the album; however, I have to admit I was more than disappointed with the E=MC2 album and singles choices. Mariah is definitely working on some new material and I'm sure we have a lot to look forward too. Mariah is one of my favorite singers.

Here's Leona Lewis at a Herve Leger launch party Wednesday night in West Hollywood. I'm actually surprised that more celebrities weren't at this lil party. I admit I'm not a big Leona Lewis fan. There's nothing wrong with her but I'm just not too into her voice. She looks really nice here though.

I'm Boycotting!

I'm livid that my Kimmie got voted off Dancing With the Stars. She was clearly the best one there and despite her scores, she didn't get enough calls to stay in the competition. I'm so irritated! But I'm proud of Kim. She was so graceful and made a huge effort to learn all the dances and she looked great! I'm seriously boycotting DWTS. No longer will I watch the show after this!

Ashanti Gets Dropped

So unfortunately Ashanti got dropped from her record label and this is what Irv Gotti had to say:

“The relationship has run its course,” Gotti explained. “The chemistry of what’s needed — we’re in two totally different places. You’re talking to somebody that took her and shaped and molded her and put her out there for the world, and it blew up. I personally believe for her [Ashanti] to be successful, it took the energy … when you seen her, it was 30 niggas around her, and she’s the princess so nice and pretty walking through,” he said. “The music was great, but it was the energy that was created. It wasn’t just her standing there and singing a song.

“We don’t really speak or talk or anything like that,” he continued. “It’s sad in a way. But in another, it’s like it’s all good.“I don’t think she can win. She needs some guidance with that,” Gotti added. “But she’s not thinking like that. Really, I couldn’t tell you what she’s thinking. So that relationship has run its course and honestly, I’m gonna just drop her."

Hmmm. This doesn't sound right. The way he's talking seems awfully personal and honestly it makes Irv seem kinda unprofessional to be talking about an artist like this. I mean yeah Ashanti hasn't been doing well in her career as of late, but she definitely was Irv's bread and butter for awhile. Sounds like someone's bitter about something.

Rihanna Out and About

Lately Rihanna has been everywhere and she seems to purposely putting herself out there. Guess this whole Chris Brown situation is not gonna stop her! Random: At the Met event Monday night a paparazzi camera man asked her if Chris Brown was responsible for the swine flu and she managed to crack a smile. LOL.

Here is Kanye and Amber! Oh how cute! (rolling eyes...) I thought they had broken up? I have to admit I love her dress. The first pic doesn't really show off how nice the fabric and texture is. The second one is a little better. And when is Amber going to start growing in her hair? And more importantly, why is Kanye not wearing any socks?
Here is Ciara. I'm so sick of that long phony pony! She needs to give it a rest and let it stay in the drawer at home. I don't really like her dress either. The bottom is a tad matronly.

Of course this is Tyra Banks. I can't say I love or hate her dress. It just is what it is. She better be careful that her stalker doesn't show up. Although he was convicted he's not getting any jail time just some counseling. Girl, be careful!

Solange in Europe

Here are some pics from Solange's Twitter page. She did a concert in Barcelona and she's pictured with her back up dancers/singers Mel and Jade and members of her band. They look really nice in the second pic! I like Solange's new hair cut (although the straight cut full bangs are sooo last year). I have to admit I liked her last album a lot but I can't see her ever being a huge star. I heard she's a great performer though and I'm sad I missed her a couple of weeks ago performing around my neck of the woods.
