I make it a point to never talk about what I don't know about or give advice in an area that I have no knowledge of. For example, I never give relationship advice. I haven't been in a relationship in a long time, and the one that I was in wasn't that great. Who am I to be giving advice?
Anywhoo.....people LOVE giving me advice and sharing their thoughts about why I'm still single. I always get the standard: you have to be secure, content, and love yourself before you can be in a relationship with someone else. Okay, great advice but why is it always the people who are in co-dependent/wack relationships always giving the advice? I'm a need you look in the mirror! LOL
So I'm sitting at my computer this afternoon....checking other people's blogs, downloading music, and procrastinating on this paper I have to write. I decided to AIM an old acquaintance just to say wassup? what's good?
Lol. I keep forgetting that this is the "Philosophical Twit." You know the type...thinks they are the urban present-day Socrates/Confucius but really are just saying a whole lot of nothin? This fool acted like he was giving me awe-inspiring advice and "wisdom" and wanted to "teach" me something. PLEASE. Gimme a break...The sad thing is I can't even recollect what he said! His ignorance was pure entertainment for the first five minutes. But getting down to others' intellect level is tiring....I had to cut that conversation short!
I think people have the misunderstanding that when you're seeking a relationship, something is wrong with you. You're insecure with yourself or looking for someone to complete you. If that were the case, wouldn't I be one of those people who constantly hopped from relationship to relationship? Always needing a boyfriend? Getting with one, to get over another? I know quite a few people like that.....and they be the main people giving me advice!
Long story short:
(1) If you're a dummy--don't talk to me.
(2) Don't talk about what you don't know about.
(3) Look at yourself in the mirror before you give advice.
That is all.
