MOVIE: "Push"

I'm so irritated that the movie "Push: Based on the Novel by Sapphire," has yet to have an official release date. The movie is a drama about an overweight, illiterate teen aged girl who is abused by her mother and raped by her father. She overcomes all of her life troubles through perseverance. It's a truly inspirational story which was given great reviews by the Sundance Film Festival.

Mo'Nique plays the abusive mother. I saw clips of her role and she was amazing. Mariah Carey's character is (not 100% sure) the social worker, and from what I saw--Mariah was a totally different person and a did an excellent job as well. Her acting got rave reviews at Sundance. As you see above, they used jaw inserts to change the look of her face. Lenny Kravitz and Paula Patton are also in the film.

Unfortunately, it seems like Lions Gate as taken all clips of the movie off the internet, so I can't put one up. But hopefully this means that it will be out soon. They say that it's a profound, intense, and life-changing movie that everyone must see. I can't wait.
